TopTex

project

In the industrial zone of Houdeng-Goegnies, in the heart of Hainaut, the French textile distributor TopTex had a new distribution centre built. With dimensions of 92 x 109 m, a height of more than 13 m and a surface area of more than 10 000 m², it has become a real steel giant. The imposing building is based on a semi-automated process developed to optimise the company's logistics and also includes a showroom and office space.

An imposing building

While the approach to the logistical part was purely pragmatic, the design team took account of the company's image when designing the contact areas (offices, reception, showroom), in particular by using a metal mesh that is reminiscent of the characteristic meshes of textiles. Joris Ide's addition to this project are the panels that give the imposing building its steel look.
