Can you introduce yourself in a few sentences?
I am the father of two beautiful daughters, Fay & Loa. I have been married to Amy Holvoet for 4 years. In my free time, I enjoy practicing magic as a hobby.
What is your function at Joris Ide?
Internal Commercial for the Belgian market. This is basically the counter sales and quotation preparation for the self-employed and private individuals.
I would describe Joris Ide as a multinational with a familial atmosphere, where collegiality is highly valued.

How long have you been working at Joris Ide?
I have been working at Joris Ide since January 2022.
How did you end up at Joris Ide?
I ended up at Joris Ide by responding to a job vacancy on LinkedIn. After that, I had an interview with a recruiter, and the following day, I received a phone call to arrange a meeting with my future manager. After completing the notice period at my previous job, I was able to start working at Joris Ide immediately.

What makes you the ideal person for this job?
What makes me the ideal person for this job is my fluency, erudition, and eloquence. I possess a driven character, which enables me to build and maintain optimal long-term relationships between customers and the company.
Were you able to settle in easily?
Absolutely. Sufficient attention is given to new employees by providing internal training regarding the use of programs and products. Therefore, having prior knowledge or experience in the construction sector is not a requirement. This makes it a pleasant learning environment for anyone transitioning from a non-construction-related job to work here.

How does a working day look like?
A typical working day starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. for those working at the counter. However, since we are open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., there is a rotating schedule for those who start at 7 a.m. and those who stay until 6 p.m. Each colleague has their fixed day, which adds to the enjoyment of the job. Throughout the day, we handle numerous phone calls, emails, and inquiries from visitors and colleagues. We take pleasure in responding to them all and preparing quotations for those in need of our products.
Moreover, we often find ourselves engaged in discussing the technical aspects of installing or handling the panels, and we are always ready to assist the customers with advice and practical support.
What would you still like to achieve at Joris Ide?
Working at the counter is, in essence, the best learning experience within the company. It exposes you to all aspects of the company, and you must consider each of them during your sales interactions. This exposure provides a foundation for further growth and opens up opportunities to pursue various career paths within the organization.
