With over a million subscribers on YouTube, french maker Henri Hihacks has established himself as a benchmark for XXL DIY creation. Trained as an engineer but passionate about crafts and recycling, he is constantly exploring new projects that combine mechanics, electronics and construction. We all remember the day he transformed a car into a futuristic tank, or the underground bunker he dug in his garden. His videos have racked up tens of millions of views, inspiring an entire generation to embark on daring projects.

After a flood damaged his workshop, Henri set himself a major challenge: to rebuild a 100 m² hangar in a week, with a small team and without a crane. For this project, he chose to rely on the industrial expertise of Joris Ide to manufacture and supply the roofing materials for the building.

The Joris Ide solution

To cover his hangar, Henri chose the Joris Ide JI Roof 1000 insulated metal panel, to integrate the new roof into the continuity of an existing single-skin box profile sheet metal roof. With its 100 mm thickness of PIR foam, this panel insures high-performance thermal insulation.

On the underside, which is visible from inside the building, Henri opted for a black finish, which will enable him to transform the warehouse into a video studio from time to time. This underside blends in perfectly with the black metal purlins, also manufactured by Joris Ide, for a uniform look.

On the outside, a Grandemat non-slip coating has been applied to the panels. This choice will make annual cleaning easier, and anticipates the future integration of solar panels.

The result

More than just a workshop, Henri's hangar is now a multi-purpose space, designed to last and evolve with his projects. Already watched by hundreds of thousands of viewers on YouTube, this project illustrates how education and industrial expertise can be combined to inspire the general public.
