Read this Privacy and Cookie Policy carefully. By entering your personal data on the www.joriside.com website (hereinafter referred to as “the Website”), buying products or services from shop.joriside.be, applying for a job through jobs.joriside.be  or contacting us by email, telephone or other means, you declare that you take cognizance of this Privacy Policy and explicitly consent to its provisions and to the processing of your data. Processing of personal data by Joris Ide Group takes place centrally in Belgium, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of personal data (hereinafter referred to as the “GDPR”).

  1. Which personal data do we process?

“Data processing” refers to any operation performed on personal data, such as its collection, use, organisation, storage, alteration, updating, retrieval, consultation, distribution, archiving, removal, management, destruction or disclosure.

If you contact us by email, phone, contact form or other means, we will process the personal data you yourself provide.

If you buy products or services from shop.joriside.be, we will process your billing information and the contact details for your company’s contact person.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will process your email address.

If you apply for a job at Joris Ide on jobs.joriside.be, we may process the following information: your contact details, your résumé and cover letter and any notes made during your job interview.

  1. What are the purposes of and legal grounds for processing?
    1. General purposes

We process your personal data in order to be able to answer your questions relating to your order from shop.joriside.be, based on your consent.

We process the contact details of your company’s contact person and your billing information in order to be able to supply and bill you for your order. The legal basis for this processing is the execution of an agreement which you requested.

While you are not obliged to disclose your personal data, you acknowledge that if you refuse processing, the provision of certain services will not be possible.

    1. Job applications

If you provide us with your personal data in the context of a job application through jobs.joriside.be, we will process this data in order to determine your eligibility for one of our vacancies. The legal basis for this processing is your consent and our legitimate interest to consider information that allows us to assess your suitability for the job and to make you an appropriate offer, if applicable.

    1. Direct marketing

We will also use your personal data for direct marketing, insofar as you explicitly consent to this use (“opt in”).

You can withdraw this consent at any time, without explanation and free of charge, for example by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any promotional email message.

  1. Sale or transfer of personal data to third parties

Joris Ide shall not sell your personal data, nor license, distribute or otherwise make it available to third parties for profit, except as described above or with your prior consent.

Under certain circumstances, Joris Ide may be obliged to disclose your personal data in order to comply with a court order or other legal or regulatory requirements. Joris Ide will use reasonable endeavours to inform you in this regard within legal constraints.

In the event of a restructuring or transfer of Joris Ide’s operations, in whole or in part, involving the restructuring, transfer or termination of business operations, or in the event of bankruptcy of Joris Ide, this can result in the transfer of your personal data to new entities or third parties that are taking over all or part of Joris Ide’s business operations.

While Joris Ide will use reasonable endeavours to inform you of the disclosure of your data to such third parties in advance, you acknowledge that this may not always be technically or financially feasible.

  1. Transfer to a third country

The GDPR does not permit transfer of personal data to countries outside Europe unless an adequate level of protection can be guaranteed. Joris Ide has operations in the United Kingdom, which is considered a third country, but offers a sufficient level of protection of individuals' privacy (“Data Subjects”) according to the European Commission. As the safeguards for transfers to this country are adequate, transmission of your personal data is permitted if applicable.

Joris Ide will not otherwise transfer personal data (including any electronic transmission) to other third countries without prior written notification.

  1. Duration of personal data processing

We will process and store your personal data as long as this is necessary for the purposes of the processing and any contractual agreements between Joris Ide and yourself.

If you submit your personal data in the context of a job application, we will remove this data once we have informed you of your ineligibility for a job at Joris Ide. If you are eligible for employment at Joris Ide, but we don’t currently have a suitable opening, we will hold your personal data in our recruitment reserve for future similar vacancies.

  1. How do we secure your personal data?

We have implemented technical and organisational security measures designed to prevent the destruction, loss, falsification, alteration, unauthorised access to or accidental disclosure of collected personal data to third parties, as well as unauthorised processing of this data of any kind.

In no event shall Joris Ide be liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from wrongful or unlawful use of personal data by a third party.
