An elegant family home

The Triangle House is a family home located in Waterloo, Belgium, designed by Notan Office, a Brussels-based architecture and urban design practice. The home features a unique triangular shape and angled windows, creating an elegant and minimalistic design.

Upon entering, the triangular shape points towards the entrance and leads to the garden. The main façade faces south and the five windows on its curved surface create a constantly changing vibe. The home is constructed with a variety of materials, including white bricks, corrugated steel, natural aluminum frames, concrete and wood. The combination of the circular façade and triangular roof also create two covered terraces, designed to best follow the sun’s path and provide protection from overheating in the summer and good day light in the winter.

From shed to chic: the new life of corrugated sheet

The corrugated metal signature is made of our JI 18-76-988 single skin profile. In that project, it is used both for roof and wall applications, giving the house a distinctive industrial and minimalist look. Cost effective and highly resistant corrugated sheeting was often associated with industrial applications and kit construction. But in the last decades, it has been used more and more in creative architectural projects such as this one. Architects and designer have learned to appreciate its utilitarian versatility, the distinctive trait of a material that is often described “radical” and “resilient”. This cladding option can be used to convey simple and humble features in an otherwise high-end design.
