I’m Clément, French guy of 31 years old. Passionate about Marketing, but also about sports, travels and wine. I would say that I have steel in my blood cause I grew up in this business, as my family was working in Profinord for Mr. Joris Ide when I was young. Then, I had the opportunity to start within the group, with some internships and then with a 1st contract 8 years ago.
I have been the Marketing and Communications Manager for 2 years now. Together with Els, Gregory, Katharina, Marijn, Michèle, Schirley, Silke and Wilfried I’m working on the Joris Ide branding. We manage everything across the marketing and communications spectrum: online (website, social media), offline (brochures, magazines), events…
You couldn’t imagine all the things our team could do for you!

How does your personality translate in the workplace?
I like people. I like to listen to them, to discuss things and to try to help them out as much as I can. This goes for colleagues, as well as for our customers. I’m also a hard-worker and can be quite persistent. I’m an empathic problem-solver, a trait which is visible in all the projects I’m working on. Last but not least, I’m a ‘builder’, and not only when it comes to steel products 😉 I love to work on structure, on high-level plans and strategies to bring our Group at top-of-mind awareness.
How long have you been working for Joris Ide?
It’s been 8 years since I started working for Joris Ide in the French sales department. There, I got to know the different businesses, customers, markets and products better. Which is a huge added-value for anyone who wants to work for Marketing.
But with a Master’s degree in Marketing in my pocket I really wanted to start working on the Joris Ide branding. At that point our CEO, Dominic, gave me the opportunity to join the Marketing department.
How has your job grown during that time?
Our marketing approach has drastically changed over the past 6 years. Being a marketeer in 2021 is definitely not the same thing as being one in 2015. Not only the approach, but also our ambitions, budget and resources have grown.
A few years ago, we used to focus solely on attending fairs and magazines. People didn’t really expect more about B2B Marketing. Website, Google, social media … They are all new marketing tools that helped us to increase our visibility. Now, following the improvements we have made, the company expects strong global actions with all the levers we have.

How did you grow during that time?
I started in marketing as more of a project manager and the main point of contact for my French colleagues. Later, I had the opportunity to work for several markets and stakeholders across Europe, to develop skills, to manage people and strategic projects. I have been able to do a lot at my age thanks to the organization and the confidence they give to young people to develop their careers.
It’s not only me, but also the whole company that has grown a lot these past years. When you look to all the fantastic work made by our Sales, Operational, Quality, Certification, Technical, Finance Teams... these last few years, it’s a huge step forward.
What ambitions would you like to realize in your career?
- To share my knowledge and becoming a mentor, to help people to develop their careers/skills.
- To make things change, to be part of decision-making processes.
- To learn new skills, in marketing and other job areas.

Our management gives a lot of autonomy and confidence to lead projects and people. Also, we have more and more the needed resources (budget, people) to climb to the next level. Exciting times ahead!
