Insulated panels

A European manufacturer of metal construction materials since 1985, Joris Ide designs a wide range of insulated sandwich panels for roofing and cladding, suitable for all types of projects — from highly technical to visually striking. Explore our solutions and see how our clients have brought them to life.

The different types of insulated metal panels

Our insulated metal panels, made of two metal sheets and an insulating core of PIR foam or mineral wool, provide both thermal insulation and fire resistance. Available in a variety of profiles and finishes — trapezoidal, corrugated, standing seam, tile, or slate — they meet both aesthetic and technical requirements. Multiple textures are available: Micro, Linear, Smooth, or Liner profile.

What are the advantages of insulated panels?

The essentials

  • Insulated panels combine the benefits of metal sheets with the performance of PIR foam or mineral wool insulation.

  • Installers appreciate the speed and ease of installation, with an experienced team able to cover up to 500 square meters per day. This efficiency helps reduce overall project timelines and labour costs.

  • Insulated metal panels can be installed on roofs or façades.

  • Tile effect, slate effect, standing seam, or secret fixings — insulated panels adapt to your tastes and color preferences.

Insulated metal panels

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to the most frequently asked questions below.

What's an insulated metal panel and what is it used for?

An insulated panel is a building component made up of two metal sheets enclosing an insulating core, typically made of PIR (polyisocyanurate) foam or mineral wool. This multi-layered system is designed to provide effective thermal and acoustic insulation while serving as a covering for roofs and façades. Insulated panels are especially valued for their light weight and rigidity, which allow for quick installation and reduce the need for structural support. Commonly used in industrial, commercial, and residential projects, they offer a combination of high-performance insulation, mechanical strength, and weather protection.

What are the differences between PIR foam and mineral wool insulated panels?

PIR foam and mineral wool insulated panels differ in their thermal insulation performance and fire resistance. PIR foam offers superior thermal insulation with better conductivity, allowing for thinner panels and improved energy efficiency. However, it is not non-combustible and has lower fire resistance compared to mineral wool. On the other hand, mineral wool panels are non-combustible and provide better fire protection, along with superior acoustic insulation. The choice depends on the project’s priorities: opt for PIR foam when thermal performance and lightness are key, or choose mineral wool to enhance fire safety and acoustic performance.

Can insulated panels be used for both roofing and cladding?

Insulated panels are suitable for both roofing and cladding applications. On roofs, they provide effective insulation while ensuring watertightness thanks to their fixing system and joint design. For cladding, they protect façades from the elements and offer an insulating solution while enhancing the building’s appearance. Their versatility makes them a popular choice for industrial, commercial, and residential projects.
